Acrylic painting Letters Home by Linda Finn

Letters Home

"Letters Home" was the very first painting done for the War Letters Project, before any research started about the men at behind the letters. It combines fragments of pages and envelopes collaged on to 4 canvases. The image of the hands represent gifts sent to the soldiers while the box in the centre holds a black stone honouring the Jewish tradition of leaving a stone on a grave in memory of a loved one.
